2011-12 A-League Fixture Review

It has been a long tiring wait but it is finally over, the A-League fixture was announced today at 12:30pm to the delight of many anxious fans. As far as we can tell, the FFA have done a solid job and delivered what was expected. We can see less midweek fixture (only during the summer), regional venues (to be decided) and of course a delayed season from October to April! Many of you may also notice that a Socceroos game has been announced to open the season with the first A-League game to be played on a Saturday by Newcastle and Melbourne Heart @ Newcastle. This is a good move by the FFA for a number of reasons. - The Socceroos draw a crowd and - The Socceroos draw media attention This combination of forces will undoubtedly shed some light on the A-League kick-off, an event avoided by the media over the past few years.
