A-League Round Fourteen Talking Points
The A-League is back for 2012 and following the mammoth Big Wednesday the clubs got a chance to settle in a more common weekend round format. TBG takes a look at week 14 of the A-League.
Brisbane Bounce Back... Kind of
After an uncharacteristic, inconsistent run of form Brisbane Roar produced their most impressive performance since their unprecedented undefeated streak.
The Roar came up against an in-form Adelaide United, who had recently rediscovered themselves following the appointment of ex-coach John Kosmina.

The Roar came up against an in-form Adelaide United, who had recently rediscovered themselves following the appointment of ex-coach John Kosmina.
In a gritty game the points were shared between the teams however the Roar will be left wondering how they did not go back to Brisbane with all three points.
Pehaps it was karma from last week's ill-deserved tie, perhaps it was Brisbane's inability to finish but one thing is for sure, the game showed glimpses of Brisbane's brilliance despite poor conditions.
It is important however not to take away from Adelaide though who put up a strong fight and could have easily walked away from the game with more, if a bit of luck had gone they're way.
The Roar showed however they could still knock the ball around nicely but failed to convert possession in attack into attacking possession.

However with Broich, and Henrique back for the Roar next week, the Roar will get the creativity it needs to create deadly opportunities and once again become a force in the A-League.
Central Coast Lead the Pack
A win against rivals and an 8 point lead.
The weekend could not have been better for Mariners fans who saw their team once again show tactical depth and total domination.
Despite match reports Sydney held up well in the second half of the game and created a few good opportunities.
The Sky Blues may consider themselves unlucky to have lost at home due to an early goal however if their recent form is anything to go by, it could have been much, much worse.
They say that the results teams don't deserve define team's seasons, however the Central Coast appear to deserve every win they have gotten as of late which begs the question, who can challenge the Central Coast?

Gold Coast Thriller
Gold Coast vs Melbourne Heart.
Melbourne Heart were always expected to win but knowing the A-League a surprise was not off the cards, however what was to come was completely unprecedented.
This week's hidden gem saw over 40 shots fired in an open and very entertaining game.

The woodwork was the only thing separating either team doubling their scores on a number of occasions in the 1-1 draw.
But what the match provided on field it lacked off it, with no active support and a poor crowd.

Unfortunately the game produced more shots then spectators with an alarming 2,000 at the game.
To put that in perspective 2,000 was roughly the average crowd of the old NSL, the number of people rejected from Skilled Stadium in the M1 derby and less the 20% of the current average attendance in the A-League.
Gold Coast proved once again they have finals potential and the ability to entertain, however the bottom line remains.

More people need to see it.
