Go in with Heart, not blind Glory

Emerton, Culina, Ono, Del Piero, Heskey, Beckham? In the A-League?

Just a few months ago you would have laughed at the proposition, but football changes each week, so a few months is more than enough time for even the most impossible hypotheticals to precipitate into an even more inconceivable reality.

Central Coast don't have the funds so Beckham is out of the question unless he buys the club with his spare change and signs himself.

Sydney already have ADP although the prospect of Beckham, Emerton, Culina and ADP in the same line up is mouthwatering it is unlikely due to ADP's already high price tag. (Please note Terry McFlynn is of too high a quality to be mentioned in the same sentence as the players mentioned)

Melbourne Victory... have openly said no. Yes, Ange Postecoglou has said NO to David Beckham.

Western Sydney have stretched the FFA's budget as it is so Posh Spice won't be taking the train though Parramatta any-time soon.

Wellington are unlikely to receive any FFA support unfortunately because they are Kiwis.

Tinkler also appears to be stretched financially sadly for the Jets.

Which leaves Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and Heart.

The Beckhams have been reported to favour Melbourne or Sydney ruling out all of the above.

It should also be noted although Perth have reportedly made an offer the reduced Capacity at NIB may waste Beckham's crowd pulling potential not to mention attempts to sign Kewell were halted due to a full roster and the unfavourable travel times.

Which leaves, Melbourne Heart.

The team struggling to step out of it's older brother's shadow.

Currently pulling low crowds Beckham would do wonders in Australia's "sporting capital" and would put the Melbourne Derby on the map.

Also, during one of Beckham's visits to Australia a couple of TBG's admins managed to track him down and had an interesting exchange.

Of course by exchange what we mean is one of us shouted at him "stuff PSG, move to Heart."

So although I hate to say it, I think if Beckham does play in the A-League he'll be playing in red and white simply because it is the most convenient option and (because of significant influence by media giants).
